I had my 35 week check up yesterday. After a rough Tuesday I was a ball of nerves. Tuesday was not good because I was so exhausted I couldn't function. I couldn't think, I didn't have any patience and my body was going haywire on me.
I have been having lots of practice contractions. They started around my seventh month and just keep progressing every day. Usually the afternoons and evenings are the worst. I have been trying to drink as much water as my poor bladder can handle because it is supposed to help. Also I have had some contractions in my hips and lower back. Those are the ones that made me a bit nervous.
I went to my appointment not sure what to expect, was there going to be an exam to see if I had been dilating etc. or not? I told the doctor how I was trying to be as patient as possible because I had driven my self crazy with Hannah. I think it is a curse to have your first born early. Because you then expect the rest of them to come early as well. The doctor was very sweet and said most third babies come a little early like 39 weeks or so. He said expect 38 weeks. He did do an exam and I have thinned a tiny bit and I have dilated to a 1cm. Which we all know I could walk around for months dilated to a 1.
It was funny though he said I would come back in 2 weeks and see the nurse practitioner (37 weeks). Then I would see him again at 38. As he was leaving he said see you at 38 weeks or maybe sooner. What a cruel man.
But I have relaxed a great deal today and I am feeling much better. Anytime after Easter and we are good. I don't want to have this baby any earlier than that. It would be too early. So I am going to sit tight and relax for the next couple of weeks and just let mother nature do her job. I really don't have much control anyways.
