Since I am trying to play fair, now it's Hannah's turn. James had his story done already. The third baby will have theirs done as well.
I was a miserable person while I was pregnant with Hannah. I was tired of being pregnant as soon as I knew I was pregnant. It was an easy pregnancy just like with James. In fact my pregnancies were so similar I was counting on another boy. The other thing I was counting on was having a baby at 37 weeks.
So 37 weeks and my first internal exam rolls around and the sweet little Dr man told me I still had a way to go. I about hit the floor. Um, no, I am having this baby soon. HA! 38, weeks and still no progress. I was in our pool and at the gym as much as I could be trying to get labor going. I was so sick of being pregnant. I had mental issues and a ton of false labor. At the 39 week appointment I was crying when he said still no progress. He gave me the "good" exam and scheduled an induction because I was loosing my mind. I had taken my friend Kristin with me to that appointment to help with James because Jerry was working.
Everyone relaxed and planned on the induction and went about their business as usual. Except that night contractions woke me up around 12. So I did the usual, shower, walk around, etc to see if they would keep coming. They did, so I sat on my exercise ball played solitaire on the computer and timed my contractions using a website that did just that kind of thing for you.
So I determined I was in labor and because Jerry was working went to the plan of who to call. First call would be Jerry, duh. So I call his phone and no answer. I called and called then I got brave and called the grapevine. The grapevine is a phone at the fire station that the firefighters can receive calls on, not a business line, more personal. The grapevine, rang and rang, no answer. So I started to quietly freak out. Then I sucked it up big time and called the captains line, no answer. Panic started coming. By the way it's 2 in the morning now. So my guess is they are at a big fire and the whole station is out. Crap. I call my father in law, a captain at another station to find out where they are at. As I get him on the phone, the other line beeps in and its Jerry. Thank God. Husband located, in bed with the rest of the hard sleepers at 26's. Everyone was there and sleeping peacefully.
Now, to get my ride to the hospital, up and going. I call Kristin who is first in line for late night baby sitting. No answer. Oh my, what am I going to do. So I leave a message and call Joel and Penny. Jerry's aunt and uncle who live close. Joel answers the phone and I calmly state I need a ride to the hospital, thank you. Kristin calls back and is on her way over.
So it's 2'ish in the morning and the brigade shows up. I had my hospital bag out and ready to go. My contractions were coming pretty close I quit timing them when they were five minutes apart. Kristin and Penny were the best entertainment ever. They were running around putting my bag in the car and taking it out again. Joel, who is a firefighter as well, would be my actual ride to the hospital. He came a few minutes behind the girls. Penny and Kristin decided they should time the contractions as we waited outside on the sidewalk for Joel. At this point they were around 2 minutes apart. Joel showed up and Kristin decided to run and get towels just in case Joel would be delivering on the side of the road. It is a 45 minute drive and all. I was pretty sure I would not deliver my baby on the 14 freeway.
We made it to the hospital Jerry met me at the door and we thanked Joel for going into work so early this morning. They checked me in, I was definitely in labor. I got my epidural pretty soon after and my labor went really quick. I was ready to go sometime before 6 and we had to wait for the Dr to show up. Once he finally arrived, Hannah Camryn came into the world very soon after. She was our little peanut at 6lbs 8oz and 19 inches long.
Yes a little girl showed up. I had been planning on another boy. It threw me through a loop for awhile. A girl? My mother in law remembers me saying on the phone. "It's a girl, we will be alright." But now that I have her I wouldn't trade her. But she is all girl. Dresses, purple, pink, purses, and dolls. The more princess the better.

I knew the story but for some reason this time reading it was funnier. Oh, to be a fly on the wall. Wonder what number three will have in store for you.
