Yesterday I was in the kitchen and I hear screams coming from James room. I start on my way towards the noise. It is usually nothing more than a fight. Then it becomes clear James is screaming "momma come quick!"
I start to get nervous and I hurry up. Hannah meets me in the hall with a worried look. My heart drops. James is still screaming. I am thinking how did something so bad happen in his room?
I get in the room and he is standing on his bed holding up the United States Map poster that we had just hung. That's it? Your poster fell?
I start yelling at him. You do not scream like that unless some one is hurt and hurt badly. You scarred Momma to death. I rehang the poster and wander off shaking my head.
The reaction was more than the problem. How many times in life do I have a larger reaction than needed? Did my son inherit a drama gene? Oh boy.
