Santa's shopping list

So little Hannah wants a Moxie Girl. And man o' man is she focused on a Moxie Girl. Too much TV. A Moxie girl is really just a younger Bratz doll. She has asked the mall Santa, the Santa at the preschool and it's in her Santa letter.

Santa already decided a BFC ink doll was a better choice.

But dang it we can't convince Hannah.

Happy Thanksgiving

It was a good day. I have lots to be thankful for. My only wish would be to get to see all my family at all the holidays.

Dearest Santa

Dear Santa,

I think I had better ask for a baby boy for Christmas. It seems someone in my family has plans for us. I would be OK with a boy or a girl come May, as you know healthy is best.

Thank you,

Stephanie

was gonna

I was going to make James his own Jimmie Johnson racing suit for Halloween. I had a plan on using this pattern and altering it a bit to look like an official NASCAR racing suit. It was not going to be easy and in fact I had been procrastinating the trip to the fabric store. So when today we found a already made one online, we bought it. This is probably the first ever bought Halloween costume in my life. My mom made all of ours and I was headed down the same path. How quickly I caved.

Happy Birthday - 30 year edition

Well I hit the 30 year mark on Saturday! I had one of the best days I could ever imagine. I did the flowers for my good college friend's wedding. I just love working with the flowers, it had been a long time and I had forgotten how much I liked doing it.

Her wedding was in Geyserville, near Napa, it was a beautiful day, we had a break from the 110 degree heat here in Bakersfield. The Bride was beautiful and the wedding was a blast. I got to hang out with old college room mates, we drank wine and danced till dark.

And to make the day even better Jerry and I did some impromptu wine tasting before the wedding and we bought some wine that will be special to us for a long time.

So to sum up 30'th birthday = flowers, wine, friends, dancing & love

It feels like forever

Since my last post, that is.

I have been busy but so have you. We made it through the holidays. A new year with out any resolutions from me. I just everyday keep trying to get back to my running. I can't believe how easily routine gets thrown off this time of year.

I don't have to have surgery, now. I went to a dr. with brain and he said I would have to get a few of these infections before he would even consider operating. Fee-ewe.

My newest family project is seeing if I can potty train Hannah. Today was the first day. She is 18 months old, mainly poops in the toilet and has a keen interest. Wouldn't it be great to be rid of diapers? She did pretty good. Her brother however got jealous over the potty chair. We didn't use one with him, but since Hannah is such a peanut I don't want her climbing up to the toilet. The other funny part is training underwear start at a 18 month size and a 24lb weight. She just weighed in at 20lbs at her 18mo check up. So they are these giant baggy underwear. I have a couple of options, 1 do nothing and laugh at the size difference, 2 alter the ones I bought, 3 try to make some in her tiny size. If we get snowed in tomorrow I might attempt alterations.

Still haven't started the well. I don't know what the hold up is we drove past the site where the well driller is working and nothing is happening. Probably weather related.

We are bracing ourselves for this supposed giant storm headed our way. If we actually get some snow it will be fun for the kids. And a way to be outside doing something different.

Merry Christmas

I hope its going well for everyone. I enjoy the holidays I just wish it wasn't so crowded. I usually get everything done fairly early. This year felt a little more rushed than usual. Even though we didn't decorate our home.

I made some of the famous rolls from Jerry's grandmas recipe for Christmas Eve. They will go nicely with the minestrone soup I am going to make. Then I decided to make Cinnamon rolls. However I didn't have regular flour so I tried them with whole wheat flour. We will see.

James is extra tired and I planned on putting him to bed extra early tonight. Well he showed me. He stayed up extra late revolting my plan. So hopefully we can squeeze a nap out of him tomorrow. Mass is mid-day so probably not. Extra tired child + excitement of Holiday = mom with an extra large headache.

Merry Christmas & good luck!

What a mess

Well I have been busy, as most of you have been too. Tis the season.

Here is a quick update on our happenings.

The kids and Jerry are doing great. Jame is still into monster trucks and Hannah is into what ever her brother is doing. But she does slip away to sit at the book shelf and read books. Jerry has been working a ton. I think we are drilling a well very soon.

I am a mess. Besides being busy I got the slightest flu beginning of last week. That tiny case of flu turned into a sinus mess. I have been getting my terrible sinus headaches again. I went straight to an ear nose and throat guy this time. He had me get a CT scan and it turns out I am a mess. My plumbing is not working well at all. So I need another sinus surgery. The first one apparently only focused on the nose. This time I need to see a specialist and have the sinuses behind my eyes and above my eyes fixed. So considering this time of year its a little hard to get appointments and all but I am scheduled for a second opinion next week and with the specialist the first dr. recommended. Here is the kicker, the first dr. told me that antibiotics wont do me any good and that I will get addicted to pain medication. So he sent me on my way just to deal with the pain. That is one of the main reasons I am getting a second opinion. But I still have to make it through Christmas on my own. I have some left over pain meds from previous infections that I am using when it gets really bad. But I still have a life to live.

Well I will keep my blog updated as I get new information. Happy Holidays!

Garth Brooks

The other day I was listening to the radio and the DJ was talking about Mr brooks coming to LA. In the best of thoughts I decided I would get Jerry tickets to this concert for Christmas, even though we said no presents this year. Because I know if there was ever anyone he would want to see it would be Garth Brooks. So I remembered this morning to try and get some. I knew I had dial up against me but I had the power of positive thinking behind me. So I click find just at the clock hit 9:00. SOLD OUT, What? So I try several more times then I get mad and give up. This concert is all the talk on the radio and even with family who also tried to get some tickets. How a benefit concert with $40 tickets sold out so fast and how the tickets are now way, way above that on ebay. So I tell Jerry how I failed him as a wife and that he really won't be getting a Christmas present this year after all. Well, I guess we are giving each other a well. But back to my tale of tickets. So I get home tonight check out ticket master and low and behold they have added concerts. I get all excited and think this is my chance. Do they have 2 tickets anywhere for the LAST SHOW? no. Do they have 1? Yes, so in my brilliance I think I will just buy 1 and 1 and we don't have to sit together. Well I buy 1 and go back for my next and what happened? SOLD OUT, AGAIN! Oh man. So now I have 1 ticket. So either Jerry is going by himself or I am trying to scalp my ticket at 1:00 on the 26th. I am sooo naive. Rookie concert attender here for sure.

Happy Thanksgiving

A little late I know, its my theme. Happy Thanksgiving! We had a really nice holiday and we are looking forward to living through James for Christmas. Its fun with little ones.

Speaking of them. Hannah has some weird teeth growth these days. She has two front top teeth and four bottom teeth and one molar. I am going to put some serious money on the fact that she will need braces.

James has had some fun turning three. He is pretty much potty trained but just as I type this he will regress. He comes up with some hilarious stuff to say.

Jerry's back is doing well back at work. Working lots of overtime. We are going to try and drill a well in January, before drilling prices go up again. Thank you oil industry.

Just a quick update I hope you had a great day.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone. We had a great day. The kids dressed up and James got to hunt eggs for the first time ever. He didn't do so well. But it was fun watching him.

We have been busy lately. Today will be a fun filled day of cleaning the garage. I need to go try on my running shoes and see if I can run on my infected toe. Sounds like fun.

Updates on land and the real estate market coming soon.

Happy V day

We are not celebrating Valentines day here. I don't even miss it. Jerry is working. I forgot most of the day it was even a holiday. I do miss doing the flowers for the guys at the station. I have an idea for next year. I miss the flower mart at this time of year...CRAZY. I don't miss the prices on roses though. I need do to do more flower projects, I miss it. But I have been busy talking to well drillers and others about water. I am going to be an expert on all things Lockwood Valley. This company National Water Surveying is pretty cool. I hope we can utilize them in finding some water. Anyways, Happy Valentines day I hope it was all it was supposed to be for you.

Happy New Year!

I don't do resolutions, but if you do... good luck. I may have been a bit bah humbug on the new years eve holiday yesterday. I began to wonder. Why if you can save your fireworks for 6 months, cant you wait another 2 hours till midnight? Really? And what do piccolo petes have to do with a new year anyways. When did fireworks in your back yard become tradition? Oh well I grew up in Etna where things are a little different I guess. I was in bed at 10:30 it would have been earlier if Hannah would have been a nice little baby. Woo Hoo. Party it up steph. I actually don't mind at all. Its hard to do things with little ones. In a few years we can get baby sitters and actually be social. Wait this is Jerry and I, we may be the most unsocial people I know. Well here's to a fantastic new year. Hopefully filled with family, friends and fun times.

3 days of Christmas

We survived the 3 days of Christmas. Jerry and I had lots of fun with our little ones this year. Sunday we had Christmas eve dinner. It was nice except for me burning the soup. Jerry made an excellent prime rib. We enjoyed our company and had a great evening. Christmas day we went to the station. Jerry was one of the cooks and he had 2 small fires while we were there. We didn't see much of him. James got mad when Jerry had to leave on the truck. It was kind of funny kind of sad. The food was great at the station. James fell asleep on the car rid home so I just put him to bed. Tuesday morning we opened our presents. Santa was good to us this year. James has many new "wheels" to play with. Hannah like chewing on a ribbon. It was a good Holiday. But we are tired now so its time to rest.
